Lattice Towers
A lattice tower or truss tower is a freestanding framework tower. They can be used as electricity transmission towers especially for voltages above 100 kilovolts, as a radio tower (a self-radiating tower or as a carrier for aerials) or as an observation tower. They are constructed using connected steel members usually galvanized for longer life. They are normally assembled on the ground and set in sections by crane. In really hard to reach areas or places with limited access they will be set with a helicopter. Once the structure has been assembled and set it will then be checked for quality (i.e. correct placement, bolt length, tightness etc.). when all this is accomplished you will have a structure ready for transmission lines, cell or radio antennae or whatever the structure was designed for.
